Ignite your Core Values

Your Core Values are your power source

They multiply your motivation.

They shape your decisions.

When poked at, they trigger your emotions.

When you stray from them, unease follows.

With awareness, you can integrate them into your day and live at your best.

Identifying your Core Values

What matters to you most shouldn’t surprise you.

If you scan a list of possibilities, some will shout “ME!” (And your spouse or closest friends would shout in agreement…)

Others, while important, just won’t get top billing. They’ll certainly crop up in your life choices and decisions, but not as your deepest areas of conviction (and also potential flashpoints for conflict).

88 Core Values

Here are some potential Core Values. Scan the list (sign up below to get a printable version with short definitions). Which jump out? Rank order your top 5-10. Keep that list handy. How well are those values reflected in your schedule? Your finances? Your relationships? What emotional triggers may be tied to them? What might you shift to live at your best?

Oh, why 88? (Well, why not? Add as you’d like…) Also, a piano has 88 keys. You might say your Core Values form the major chords in your life. They play your best song. (Oh, and burning a piano has a long heritage in the Air Force, but that’s a story for another time…)
